The villain from a fantasy world or one of the most famous rappers in the world? Ever since the release of the new trailer for Amazon’s The Lord of the Rings series, fans have been joking about Sauron’s appearance. He resembles none other than Eminem.
Short, blond hair and a boyish face. The combination is quickly reminiscent of the young Marshall Mathers and that’s all the internet needed. One user renamed the “Lord of the Rings” villain to “Slim Sauron”.

Incidentally, Sauron is played by 22-year-old newcomer Anson Boon. According to the show’s creators, the series does not intend to “compete” with Peter Jackson’s films. “We only admire them from afar,” they say.
The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power launches September 2 on Amazon Prime. The series is said to have cost around $500 million.
