The German ESC candidates have already performed as a warm-up exercise at Liverpool’s The Cavern Club.
Lord of the Lost, the German representatives to the Eurovision Song Contest 2023, played an acoustic concert at The Cavern Club in Liverpool on Monday 8th May. Of course, the Hamburg rockers also performed their song “Blood & Glitter” there, with which they compete at the ESC.
Although the show took place at ten o’clock in the morning, the rush was large, reports “ESC compact”. 300 visitors fit into the faithful replica of The Cavern Club. The original store, which had to close in 1973, was already used by the Beatles as a stage. They played a total of 292 gigs there between 1961 and 1963. There is a playlist with all tracks played live by Lord of the Lost on Youtube.
After the concert, visitors had the opportunity to ask the group questions. The band around singer Chris Harms also received a surprise visit: Voyager, the ESC candidates from Australia, stopped by to greet their opponents. You can also watch the interview and the Voyager visit on YouTube.
The Eurovision Song Contest 2023
On Saturday, May 13, at 9 p.m., the time has come: The Eurovision Song Contest enters the 67th round in Liverpool, UK. Contrary to tradition, this year’s ESC will not take place in the country of last year’s winner, Ukraine – the reason for this is the ongoing war. In the German program, the Eurovision Song Contest will be broadcast on “ARD”. The podcast partners of “Fest & Flauschig”, Jan Böhmermann and Olli Schulz, also comment on the spectacle for Austrian radio “FM4”. More information about this year’s ESC can be found in our info post on the event.
