A strange sight for motorists on the A2 highway just outside Amsterdam: a cow is causing a traffic jam there. Traffic is getting stuck on both sides of the road. The delay is now up to an hour.
Rijkswaterstaat announced via Twitter: ‘It looks like the wild west, a cow on the A2 causes problems in the direction of Amsterdam between Vinkeveen and Abcoude.’
The cow went through the ditch and has already covered two kilometers on the road.
Lanes have been closed to ensure that the animal can leave safely. This causes a traffic jam of an hour. Two lanes in the direction of Utrecht are also closed.
