It was a strange sight for motorists on the A2 highway just outside Amsterdam: a cow caused a traffic jam there. Traffic was increasingly jammed on both sides of the road. The cow is now off the road.

Rijkswaterstaat said via Twitter: ‘It looks like the wild west, a cow on the A2 causes problems in the direction of Amsterdam between Vinkeveen and Abcoude.’

The cow had gone through the ditch and had traveled two kilometers on the road.

Lanes were closed to ensure that the animal could leave safely. This caused a traffic jam for an hour. Two lanes in the direction of Utrecht were also closed.
