Never before has the stately House in Echten been as accessible to the general public as it is today. Due to Visio’s move to Hoogeveen, a ‘busy day’ was organised. Almost everything can go, for a small price.
An excellent opportunity for bargain hunters but also for curious people who wanted to take a good look at all the caverns of the manor.
Visio was headquartered in Huis in Echten for 45 years. The care institution for people with (often) multiple disabilities had a golden spot there. “The freedom, beauty, peace and space is of course beautiful,” says Jackelien van der Sleen, who has worked at Visio for 35 years. The move to Hoogeveen is practical, the new building is more efficient and benefits healthcare. “But of course you will miss this. It will still hurt for a while.”
Because the new location is smaller than Huis te Echten, this ‘busy day’ has been created. “We have collected a lot of stuff in 45 years,” says Hans Scholing, coordinator at Visio. “Many items were made in the five workshops on the site. But we also have items from the kitchen, from the technical service and from the gardeners. There is a lot included and quite a bit of value.”
