There is a major shortage of bus drivers in Eindhoven. So large that from September the rosters can no longer be filled in if new drivers are not found quickly. And that is why potential bus drivers were allowed to take a real ride in a city bus on Saturday, through the center of Eindhoven. “Due to an aging population and because recruitment has come to a standstill during corona, we now have a large shortage,” spokesman Fred Tilburgs says. “And we have to compete with a lot of large companies in the Eindhoven region and that makes it difficult.” Reporter Noël van Hooft also took a ride and was immediately offered a job.
