There is a remarkable video circulating on social media, such as via weirdthingsinkortrijk on Instagram, of a stupid action by two young people on a moped. In the video they laugh to the sounds of ‘How Much Is The Fish?’ van Scooter with the police, during a chase in Kortrijk. But he who laughs last, laughs best. Because the video has also been noticed among police officers.
The video is currently circulating widely on social media, although the facts actually date back to December 26, 2023. In the video you see how two young people on a moped at the back of the train station in Kortrijk, via the Guldenspoorpad on the Minister Tacklaan, during a wild and dangerous chase to shake off the police. The passenger casually raises his middle finger to the combination.
A foolish stunt, which is not without consequences. “We are aware, the video was previously noticed in police circles,” says spokesman Thomas Detavernier of the Vlas police zone. “Those involved have been identified and will not get away with this. PVs have been drawn up. For the passenger this is for defamation of the police, for the driver it is for traffic violations.”
