LOOK. Ukrainian kamikaze drone hits Russian ship in Black Sea | Abroad

Ukraine has released impressive footage, which Kiev says shows a successful drone attack on a Russian spy ship in the Black Sea. This is reported by ‘CNN’ and ‘The Daily Mail’

It is not known to what extent the drone actually caused damage, because the video images stop when the drone has approached the ship to within one meter. According to Ukrainian government adviser Anton Gerashchenko, the drone exploded right next to the boat, causing it to be “severely damaged and possibly even capsized”.

That would be bad news for Vladimir Putin. The target is the most modern spy ship in the Russian fleet, the Ivan Khurs. However, Moscow denies any damage was done to the vessel. According to the Russian defense ministry, three Ukrainian drones were destroyed before they could reach the ship at around 5:30 am on Wednesday morning.

Russian sources claim that the spy ship, which is part of the Russian fleet off Crimea, is still intact.

Previously released footage showed how the ship attacked a zigzagging drone with on-board weapons and eventually succeeded in hitting the unmanned speedboat, resulting in a large explosion.

Russian sources claim the spy ship, which is part of the Russian fleet off Crimea, is still intact, although the same sources say it is possible that a drone collided with the ship, but did not explode. However, they provided no evidence for this and could not be independently verified.

So now new images are available, showing how one of the Ukrainian drones skims over the water, right at the bow of the Khurs. That indicates a direct hit or that the drone was shot down near the Khurs.

The ship, which launched in 2017, was reportedly in international waters some 75 kilometers north of the Bosphorus, a strategically important strait connecting the Black Sea to the Mediterranean.

In April 2022, Ukraine managed to sink the main ship of the Russian fleet in the Black Sea with a missile attack. That is seen as one of Russia’s greatest humiliations since its invasion of Ukraine began in February last year.
