LOOK. Ukraine warns Russian tourists in Crimea with bizarre ‘holiday video’ that degenerates into horror | Abroad

The Ukrainian Ministry of Defense shares a special video on the official social media channels. On the tones of Madonna’s hit ‘Holiday’ you can see fragments from films with happy, dancing and surfing people. But the carelessness turns into a nightmare.

“Big plans this summer?” reads the text. “A travel advisory is in effect for certain beaches”. The tenor of the images then becomes grimmer, including a fragment from ‘Jaws’. Then you see explosions on a beach, followed by real images of Russian tourists who fled from the beaches in Crimea last year because of explosions. “We warned you last summer to stay away from Crimea,” it says with images of, among other things, a woman crying. “Our forecast for this season is stormy weather.”

The video is clearly aimed at Russian tourists vacationing in Crimea annexed by Russia. Many Russians are now flocking to the peninsula as travel restrictions prevent them from reaching the Mediterranean. They had to wait until seven o’clock yesterday because the army searches all vehicles for explosives. Crimea is connected to the Russian mainland by a large bridge. In October, a truck carrying explosives caused extensive damage to the bridge, and the Russians fear a recurrence.
