During an expedition to the bottom of the ocean off the coast of Alaska, scientists from NOAA Ocean Exploration found a special object. It resembles a golden sphere clinging to the reef. During a live stream, they talk to each other to find out what it would be. “It looks like a sponge,” says one. “Maybe an animal has made a house out of it,” says the other.
