More than a million people gathered on the Champs-Elysées in Paris on New Year’s Eve to count down to the new year together. From 7 p.m., Parisians and tourists gradually filled the two-kilometer-long, tree-lit avenue. They all wanted to experience the fireworks spectacle up close, but many of them also wanted to capture the moment on their smartphones, which makes for funny images.
