This weekend, monster waves rolled over the coastline of South Africa. A combination of a low-pressure area, strong winds and spring tides caused a lot of chaos in the Cape Town region. For example, a high wave swept away a 93-year-old woman and many cars. The woman did not survive this. There was a lot of damage due to the storm surge, especially in Gordon’s Bay. Even though the South African Weather Services had issued a warning of rough seas, many people were still surprised by the force of the waves.
