A Mexican family is on a hot air balloon ride over Mexico City on Saturday when the balloon’s basket suddenly catches fire. Regina, the daughter of the family, decides to jump out of the balloon. Her parents Jose Nolasco (50) and Viridiana Becerril (38) do not. Due to the heat in the basket, the balloon rises very quickly, so jumping is no longer an option. The couple is burned alive. Daughter Regina is taken to hospital with severe burns and a broken arm, but will most likely survive the gruesome incident. There would also be a fourth occupant, the pilot of the balloon, but he has not yet been found. The cause of the dramatic accident is still under investigation.
