On October 7, mother Shiri and her two children, Ariel and Kfir, were kidnapped by Hamas from their kibbutz Nir Oz in southern Israel. Since then, every trace of them has been missing. Kfir’s birthday was celebrated last month, he would now be one year old. The images that Israel is now sharing should show that they were taken to the city of Khan Younis in the moments after their kidnapping.
Armed men cover the woman’s head as she is escorted down a street, according to Israel, towards one of Hamas’s underground tunnels. Baby Kfir was said to be in a sling that his mother was wearing at the time. The Israeli army says it found the statues in one of the tunnels.
It is highly unclear whether baby Kfir and his family members are still alive. Hamas previously said the family was killed in an Israeli bombardment.
