The TikTok footage shows a man taking a T-shirt with the letter ‘Z’ from a rack in the store. The letter is the symbol of the Russian armed forces and the man refers to it as “the symbol of the murder of Ukrainians.” “I hate just seeing it,” he says.

He blames the upset woman for just hanging the shirt in the shop window in the city center. “This is not a good example for running a store,” he said angrily.

Opinion

The woman then demands that the Ukrainians leave her shop. “You have your opinions and I have mine,” she argues. “It’s my store and I stand up for what I think.”

When asked whether she supports the war against Ukraine, she answers in the affirmative. “I fully support it,” he said. She also says her son is fighting in the Russian army. “It is not Russia’s war against Ukraine,” she denies. “It’s a war between Russia and the US. Ukraine has been attacked by the Ukrainians themselves.”

Threats

The images are making the rounds on social media and the store manager is getting the wind of it. There are a lot of threats against her, including on her business’s Facebook page.

There you can also see that the woman offers an extensive range of Russian products. In addition to the well-known matryoshkas (dolls that fit together), there are images of Putin and hats with Soviet stars.
