About 90 women walked a 25-kilometer march from Groningen to Grijpskerk on Saturday. They followed in the footsteps of 116 women who were sent out by the Germans from Camp Westerbork in the aftermath of the Second World War.
They were couriers and other resistance fighters, political prisoners and women with relatives in the resistance. After having walked for 4 nights under strict security, the women were released at Grijpskerk.
