Tensions between China and Taiwan are running high as China seeks control of the country. Taiwan is therefore preparing for a possible conflict and is using all resources, including children. At a secondary school in Kaohsiung, students can take shooting lessons and participate in military exercises. It is part of the ‘All-out Defense’, a concept that should ensure that every citizen is prepared for a conflict. “Everyone needs to know how to react if something happens in Taiwan,” said Lieutenant Colonel Hsiao Yueh-chin.
