MacBook Air with larger screen

As predicted, Apple has a MacBook Air with a 15 inch screen announced. Until now, Apple only produced MacBook Airs with a 13.3 or 13.6-inch screen. The 15-inch MacBook Air is available to order today and will be available starting Tuesday, June 13. Apple fans have to do something for it: that’s how the price for the laptop starts from 1,599 euros.

The MacBook Air has a custom, “lightning fast” M2 processor. According to Apple, the new MacBook Air is the thinnest laptop in the world at just 11.5 mm. It weighs barely 1.5 kilograms. The new MacBook Air has a battery that lasts for 18 hours. The device would also be twelve times faster than its predecessors.

Updates in iOS 17 for iPhone

Apple comes with several updates in iOS 17, the latest version of the iPhone operating system. For example, Apple users can now choose which one caller ID appears on other people’s iPhones.

FaceTime and Messages are also getting an update. There is a new function that transcribe voicemails. FaceTime now supports audio and video messaging. If you call someone who isn’t available, you can now share a message for that person to view or listen to later. Users will also be able to share more information with contacts, such as their battery percentage.

As expected, a new app is also coming to a diary to keep up. For example, if users are going on a trip, the Diary app might suggest they post their locations, photos, and the music they’ve been listening to in the app. The app can also provide writing prompts to encourage users to take notes about their experiences.

With the Stand-byfunction, users can also continue to see information when their iPhone is on the charger.

With the new NameDroptool, users are given the option to share their contact information by holding two iPhones close together. In addition, there will be one Check in function come, which allows users to let family members or friends know that they have arrived home safely.

It will be a relief to many users for the iPhone: including the autocorrect feature is being improved. Users regularly suffered from an overzealous autocorrect, which failed to recognize certain words and automatically replaced them with ‘logical’ other words, completely changing the meaning of a sentence. For example, in English the swear word ‘f * cking’ (adjective ‘fucking’) was automatically changed to ‘ducking’ (the verb ‘to dive’). That’s a thing of the past, Apple promises. From now on, the phone will learn to recognize the ‘new’ word being typed.

New lock screen for iPad

The renewed iPadOS 17 system makes the iPad “even more personal and versatile”, according to Apple. But what specifically changes? Users can expect a redesigned lock screen and interactive widgets, as well as smart new features in PDF documents and Notes, updates to Messages, FaceTime and Safari, and a new Health app.

AirPods with custom noise cancellation

In addition, Apple’s AirPods will receive an update. For example, there will be a new function that will increase the level of noise reduction automatically adapts to the environment in which the user is located. In this way, the user will no longer be bothered by distracting sounds.

New widget system for Apple Watch

As predicted, Apple has a new system for the Apple Watch widgets launched. This allows users to view information without having to open the app. This concerns, for example, the weather or appointments in your agenda.

The design of the Apple Watch will also look different. In addition, the walking, cycling and mindfulness apps are getting an update.

Apple ‘Vision Pro’ glasses

“Save the best for last”, they thought at Apple. As analysts have long expected, the tech giant has finally announced the ‘Vision Pro’, their very first ‘mixed reality’ glasses. The device is a mix of ‘virtual reality’ (VR) and ‘augmented reality’ (AR). The glasses allow users to see Apple apps projected in front of them.

“Mixing digital content with the real world will allow us to create new experiences like we’ve never seen before,” Apple CEO Tim Cook said of “this new revolutionary product.”
