An Air Canada Boeing 777 was struck by a huge lightning bolt on Sunday shortly after takeoff from Vancouver Airport, Canada. About 400 passengers were on board the plane at the time, which was en route to London Heathrow. It is Ethan West, a plane spotter and pilot in training, who managed to capture the spectacular images.
