Long traffic jams on E40 towards the coast and French border

On the E40 from Brussels to the coast it is very busy on Thursday morning with accordion traffic jams.

There are also long traffic jams towards France. There is currently more than 7 kilometers of traffic jams from Jabbeke to Dunkirk, with traffic at walking pace from Veurne to De Panne. This may be because the French police have been carrying out checks at the border all morning.

It is unclear how long the disruption will last.
