Since last week, South Africa has again been faced with heavy downpours and thunderstorms. These have caused significant damage in large parts of the country, with some areas being flooded and roads damaged. For example, parts of the badly affected city of Ladysmith were under meters of water on Tuesday.
Earlier this month, South Africa and Lesotho, the mountain kingdom surrounded by South Africa, also experienced torrential rain. As a result, dams in both countries are on the rise. Some people also died in Lesotho as a result of the heavy summer weather.
