Shortly before the start on Monday, the new Deutschlandticket in Berlin once again aroused great interest.

A line more than 100 meters long formed in front of sales outlets on Sunday at Alexanderplatz, as reported by RBB. A similar picture emerges at the Zoologischer Garten train station.

The Deutschlandticket is valid nationwide for local and regional transport and is sold as a subscription that can be canceled monthly for EUR 49 per month. It is issued as a mobile phone ticket or chip card. Until the end of the year it can also be bought as a paper ticket with a QR code.

The ticket for May up to April 20 could be ordered online from the Berliner Verkehrsbetriebe. Since then it has only been available at the counter.

According to the BVG, around 500,000 customers have already purchased the ticket. According to the Association of German Transport Companies, there were more than three million nationwide.
