LONDON (dpa-AFX) – Despite its concentration on the east of Ukraine, Russia’s war aim remains unchanged according to British secret services. Moscow wants to force Ukraine to give up its Euro-Atlantic orientation. It also wants to assert its own dominance in the region, the British Ministry of Defense said in a statement on Easter Sunday, citing intelligence information.
Operationally, Russia is still in the process of relocating its troops and equipment from Belarus to eastern Ukraine – including to places near the city of Kharkiv. For weeks now, the British government has been releasing regular intelligence information on the course of the war of aggression in an unusually open manner.
