The UK will impose new sanctions against Russia if it refuses to withdraw its troops from the territories that London recognizes as Ukrainian, the report says. statement on the website of the British Foreign Office.

The agency protested to Russian Ambassador to the UK Andrey Kelin, who was summoned to the country’s Foreign Ministry due to Moscow’s recognition of the independence of the Donetsk and Luhansk republics (LPR and DPR).

“The UK reaffirms its unwavering commitment to the sovereignty, territorial integrity and independence of Ukraine and insists that Russia immediately withdraw all of its military forces. <...> We have made it clear to the Russian ambassador that Russia will pay for its actions with further sanctions if it does not withdraw its troops,” the statement said.
