London museum returns 72 collection pieces to Nigeria

The Horniman Museum in London will transfer 72 objects from its collection to the Nigerian government, the board of the British museum decided yesterday. With the decision, the museum is responding to the request made by the Nigerian National Committee for Museums and Monuments (NCMM) in January 2022. “We are excited to take this step and look forward to working with the NCMM to secure the long-term care of these precious artifacts,” said Eve Salomon, chairman of the board of directors, in a statement.
