Lollapalooza
After a two-year break, it’s finally time again. The Lollapalooza starts in Berlin. Because of the corona pandemic, it could not take place in 2020 or 2021. Headlining performances by Rage Against The Machine and Miley Cyrus were originally planned for 2020.
Founded in Chicago by Jane’s Addiction singer Perry Farrell, the Lollapalooza Festival took place in Europe for the first time in 2015 – at the former Tempelhof Airport in Berlin. Since then it has moved several times and, after stops in Treptower Park and the Hoppegarten trotting track, has found its location at the Berlin Olympic Stadium for the time being.
The Lollapalooza offshoot Superbloom is also scheduled to take place in Munich in 2022, with Kraftklub, David Guetta and AnnenMayKantereit, among others. On the site of the former Tempelhof Airport, another festival celebrated its debut with “Tempelhof Sounds”.
