The Rolling Stones get a tribute from Lego for their 60th birthday: 1,998 Lego parts can be tinkered together to form the official “Tongue and Lips” band logo. Meanwhile, entertainment is provided by a soundtrack specially made for the project, which can be called up using a QR code.
The Rolling Stones set will be released on June 1st and is part of the Lego Art series for adults. According to the manufacturer’s website, this honors “true icons from the video game, travel or sports world as well as from history, science, technology, motor sports and entertainment”.
The assembled logo should measure 57 cm in height and 47 cm in width. Lego suggests hanging the result as a wall decoration. Two hangers are attached to the model for this purpose.
The set also includes nine building plates, an element with the signature of the Rolling Stones, a frame made of Lego bricks and an element separator to detach the small plates. Part of the Rolling Stones Edition is also a picture guide that guides you through the project and houses “favourite moments from the sensational career of the Rolling Stones”.
Two variants of the work can be seen on the images published by Lego: On the one hand, there is apparently the “standard” version, i.e. the classic logo. Another version shows the tongue with a built-in 60, symbolizing the 60th anniversary of the Rolling Stones.
Of course, the Rolling Stones are also celebrating their 60th birthday themselves – with a big tour. Some dates also lead the rock band to Germany. This tour won’t be the last, announced frontman Mick Jagger, who recently released his solo single “Strange Game” for the Apple+ series “Slow Horses”.
