Lockers in Ostend entertainment district in the fight against thieves

According to the city of Ostend, this is a first. Although already seen at major events, the City of Ostend is the first to introduce this in a nightlife area.

Alderman Maxim Donck: “We want to offer the many visitors to the Langestraat the opportunity to safely store their belongings while going out. At certain times a lot of people gather there, in a relatively small area. During those busy periods it is a potential thief easier to grab. This pilot project with lockers should give visitors the opportunity to store personal items such as backpacks and jackets in a safe way.”

The trial period starts today and runs until 09 January 2023. The lockers are located on the side of the Tourism Department.
