Residents of the KPN location on Weerddwarsstraat are being criticized by the municipal objection committee. They strongly disagree with the De Groene Pleinen building plan, but the committee is sweeping the objections aside one by one.
The total of 43 rental apartments of 50 square meters for starters and seniors, with five floors and a height of 16 meters, is too massive and high, according to local residents. There would also be too many cars in the area and the windmills in the area would be inconvenienced by the building.
However, the committee notes that both the municipality of Meppel and the builder adhere to all the rules and that the procedures have been completed correctly.
