Local residents are shocked by the havoc in Oss, the fire brigade had to force the door

The damage to the front door of the apartment in Oss, where an explosive device went off on Thursday night, is extensive. The fire brigade had to break open the door with heavy artillery to get a woman out of the house. Local residents are shocked when they see the damage caused to their neighbor.

Broken windows and a badly damaged frame, the damage to the door suggests that the blow must have been enormous. However, the damage in the hall of the affected apartment is not too bad. Some drawers of a cupboard in the hall have been removed, there is glass and there is no visible fire damage.

It is the fire brigade that had to put in a lot of effort to get the door open, because there were strong locks on the door. Breaking open the door caused the most damage.

A chainsaw was used and eventually also tools with which they normally cut open cars after an accident, according to a 112 correspondent. The woman had locked her door very well with locks and anti-burglary strips.

“Geez, that looks pretty intense.”

There was smoke development, which made it difficult for the woman to get out. It concerns a woman of around sixty years old, say the neighbors of the affected house on Gerrit van der Vlietstraat. She eventually left the house unharmed and is now temporarily housed elsewhere.

Because the door of the house can no longer be closed, the house is guarded all night and morning. Around half past ten, the police started forensic investigations and a neighborhood search. The upstairs neighbor looks suspiciously at the front of the building. “I find it creepy and scary.”

Many local residents did not hear the blow at the apartment. “I only woke up when the fire brigade built a light installation here and opened that door,” says the immediate neighbor. She is shocked when she sees the damage. “Geez, that looks pretty intense.”

Passers-by also stop to look at the damage. A cyclist passes by, he lives a short distance away and stops to have a look. “It’s often hit lately with all those explosions. It’s getting closer and closer. Scary!”.
