Jörg Wetzel, Managing Director at Lloyd, has died at the age of 53.
He was “suddenly and unexpectedly taken from his life” on May 18, Lloyd announced on Friday. Management, works council and employees of the German shoe retailer are deeply affected.
“With Jörg Wetzel, I’m not only losing a more than valued colleague, but also a good friend,” said Andreas Schaller, spokesman for the management. Lloyd loses an excellent managing director who has kept the company up and brought it forward with all his strength over the past few years. We will never forget his competence, his zest for life and his humanity.”
Wetzel became part of the Lloyd management board in 2016 and was responsible for the areas of finance, controlling, law, human resources, logistics, IT and e-commerce.
