Lizzo sings Rammstein’s “Du hast”

Pop star and Grammy winner Lizzo is currently touring Europe. On February 20, the American performed in Hamburg’s Barclays Arena. There she took the opportunity to pronounce a few German words that she had recently learned. She now knows, for example, that “Oma” is the German term for the colloquial “granny”. And: She knows Rammstein and intoned a few lines from “Du hast” at her concert.

Lizzo’s homage to the German language and its most famous (rock music) representative abroad was obviously not only fun for the audience, but also for herself: “Oh Hamburg, I’m having fun, bitch!” She said and laughed.

Lizzo performed in Cologne on Monday, followed by a concert in Berlin on Tuesday (February 28). On March 3rd she will play in Zurich.

Lizzo released her second album SPECIAL in July 2022 and graced the title of our Musikexpress issue 07/2022. Her single “About Damn Time” won her a Grammy 2023, while German producer Purple Disco Machine received a Grammy for his remix of that song. Most recently, she covered Gramm winners Sam Smith and Kim Petras’ Unholy on British television.
