Salah breaks several records
Liverpool FC shot arch-rivals Manchester United out of their own stadium with a 7-0 thrashing. Only once did the Reds win higher in the Premier League, while Mohamed Salah set several new records against favorite opponents. The goals on Sunday came from Cody Gakpo (43’/50′), Darwin Núñez (47’/75′), Roberto Firmino (88′) and Salah (66’/83′), who also provided two more goals. Man United have never lost so heavily in the top flight since the Premier League began (1992).
With his next two goals against Manchester United, Salah has set two new records of his Liverpool spell. The Egyptian is not only the first LFC player to snap in five consecutive league games against the “Red Devils”. Salah’s 129th Premier League goal for the Reds also surpassed Robbie Fowler’s all-time high of 128.
Salah’s personal Man United record, his absolute favorite opponent, is now twelve goals in twelve games. So far he has not scored so often against any league competitor. Salah also scored a double-digit number of goals against Manchester City and Tottenham, but played against these two opponents much more often than against Man United. On Salah’s record by opponent.
