Team manager Jürgen Klopp has reached the final of the English Football League Cup with Premier League leaders FC Liverpool.
In the semi-final second leg at league rivals FC Fulham, a 1-1 (1-0) win was enough for the Reds to advance to the final after a 2-1 first leg win.
On February 25th, record winners Liverpool will reach the final after their tenth triumph in the League Cup.
The opponent of Klopp’s team in the new edition of the 2022 final is the five-time title winners FC Chelsea (0:1 and 6:1 against second division club FC Middlesbrough).
Liverpool’s Colombian striker Luis Diaz ensured a preliminary decision in the overall score with the visitors’ opening goal. The home team, led by their German goalkeeper Bernd Leno, managed to equalize through Issa Diop (77′) at the start of their final offensive, but after that Klopp’s team took the game over time.
