Liverpool FC for a long time without Díaz – Alexander-Arnold & Matip also injured

Trio together worth 173 million

Jürgen Klopp has had to do without offensive player Luis Díaz at Liverpool for a long time. As the coach confirmed, the 25-year-old will be out for six to eight weeks with a knee injury. In the 2-3 draw at leaders Arsenal on Sunday evening, the Colombian international had to be substituted just before half-time and left the stadium on crutches. Díaz’s injury has no impact on the World Cup: Colombia was unable to qualify for the tournament in Qatar.

In addition to Díaz, the third most valuable Reds player with a market value of 75 million euros, Trent Alexander-Arnold, who left the pitch in a duel with Arsenal with an ankle problem shortly after the break, and Joel Matip will also be absent for the time being. At a press conference on Tuesday, Klopp explained the length of Alexander-Arnold’s downtime: “It’s always difficult to say. I heard it’s less than a month; maybe two weeks, but we’ll have to wait and see if that’s right.” He didn’t elaborate on Matip. Together the trio is worth 173 million euros.
