The English football clubs Liverpool and Manchester United are playing a friendly match against each other in preparation for the new season. They don’t do that in England, but in the Thai capital Bangkok. On July 12, the two teams will meet at Bangkok’s Rajamangala Stadium where they will compete for the Bangkok Century Cup.
Liverpool thus returns to Thailand where they previously made a trip in preparation for the 2015-2016 season. The club will also play an active role in local projects and cultural activities on site.
“Such a tour is not only important for our players to prepare for the season, it also provides an opportunity to show us to our fans worldwide,” said commercial director Ben Latty. “Since the start of the corona pandemic, this has not been possible. We are happy to be on the road again.”
