LIVE. Ukrainian economy shrunk 15 percent in first quarter

The war has contracted Ukraine’s economy by 15 percent, according to the National Statistical Office. There is still heavy fighting, especially in the east. According to President Volodymyr Zelensky, the Russians have the upper hand in Shevyerodonetsk, but the Ukrainians are holding out for now. Moscow, on the other hand, claims it has “completely liberated” the city’s residential zones. The war has caused the Ukrainian economy to shrink by 15 percent, the IMF says.
