SSV Ulm started the season similarly to Mannheim. The Spatzen won two of the first five league games. Two matches ended in a draw and one was lost. They are currently in sixth place with eight points. Head coach Thomas Wörle’s team also used the break for a test match. Ulm lost 4-2 to second division club FC Schalke. Philipp Maier is still out and the coach cannot rely on Lamar Yarbrough either because he is suspended due to a yellow-red card.

Waldhof got off to a mediocre start to the season. From the first five games they got two wins, two defeats and one draw. This means that Mannheim is currently in tenth place with seven points. During the international break, head coach Rüdiger Rehm’s team played two test matches. Waldhof lost to Darmstadt 98 1:4 and they beat the upper division team TSG Pfeddersheim 5:1. The coach has to do without Seegert, who is out due to an ankle injury.
