Glynn Watson is on fire!!! The guard brings his personal score to eight with his next three-pointer and forces Hamburg to call a timeout. There you can hear from coach Barloschky what was already mentioned. They lose the ball too easily and invite the Bonn team.

Hamburg commits the next turnover while driving into the zone, but they are lucky because a Bonn player is already on the touchline when they try to save the game. For the neutral viewer, this is an extremely cool start!

But then it is Glynn Watson who scores the first points from outside. With a nice stepback to the left, he creates space and sinks. Then Bonn goes into full court pressing, steals the ball and gets easy points.

With four wins and one defeat, the Bonn team are in third place in the home table. But Hamburg is in sixth place in the away table. So you can’t really talk about a weakness in the distance. It should be exciting when a strong home team and a strong away team meet in exactly the same constellation.

In between, the Telekom Baskets picked themselves up again and were able to collect a few victories, but apart from the first week of December, the last month of the year wasn’t exactly kind to them. The defeat in the BBL Cup against Bayern was followed by two defeats in the league against Braunschweig and Würzburg and on Wednesday the defeat after extra time in the Champions League. So it’s time for the team from the West to get another win and make the end of December with the upcoming games a forgiving one. Will extra time bother the players during the week?

The Towers have quietly and secretly worked their way up to fifth place in the table with two wins in a row against Tübingen and MBC. The fact that they have a negative basket difference over the season is unlikely to interest them at all at first. Even though they suffered a clear 120:91 defeat in the EuroCup on Wednesday, BBL is a different competition. And in this one it works for them! Fun fact: In addition to Tuomas Iisalo as coach, the Parisians also have some of last year’s Bonn players in the squad. They are certainly hoping that things go better against Bonner this time than during the week!
