Let’s go, the duel between Flensburg and the BHC is on!

A look at history reveals that this could well be a clear matter today. In 20 meetings there were 18 victories for the North Germans, whether home or away, the Bergische often suffered a significant defeat. This was also the case last season in Flensburg, when the Naji squad had to return home with a 30:17 defeat. However, today’s task is not completely hopeless: In June of last year, the BHC won against the Fördestädters and showed a very fighting performance in the 24:21 victory. The same will be necessary again today, the penultimate place with two meager points does not inspire confidence. But Flensburg are also under pressure, as they have only had one win in their last four games. In order not to lose touch with Melsungen and the Berliner Füchse prematurely, we would have to win at home today.
6:40 p.m
Many people see the North Germans as the title contenders, but the people of Fördestadt have to withstand the pressure first. The opening program was tough, first there was the first win against HSV Hamburg (37:32) in the small northern derby, then there was the difficult away hurdle against the reigning Champions League winners. New coach Nikolej Krickau’s team lost 31:29 at SC Magdeburg, but the next summit meeting took place four days later. The 109th North Derby was on the agenda, the game against the rivals from Schleswig-Holstein was open for a long time, then the THW had to admit defeat 28:27 in the Flensburg Campus Hall. But in the two following away appearances in Lemgo and Hanover, the SG did not get beyond a draw. But with their home strength, the roles should be clearly divided today.
6:30 p.m
Last season, coach Jamal Naji’s team had nothing to do with staying in the league early on. A respectable twelfth place rounded off an acceptable season, and things should go in that direction again this season. But the start currently suggests otherwise. The opening program was actually quite feasible; some points were considered firmly planned. But everything turned out differently, because in the end there was a one-goal defeat against the newly promoted Balingen and Eisenach, as well as HC Erlangen. The Bergische Löwen put up a brave fight against the Füchse Berlin, but were also left behind with a score of 30:34. The first two points were only scored a good two weeks ago, with a 33:27 win on the scoreboard away at VFL Gummersbach. But the Bergische were unable to move away from the penultimate place in the table, also due to their recent narrow defeat against the Rhein-Neckar-Löwen (29:31).
