Great for RB Leipzig, 2-1 by Emil Forsberg
Three goals in five minutes – RB leads again! Forsberg takes a through pass from Kampl and, after a little wobble, slams the ball from the left into the right corner. Is it the farewell goal for the long-time RB veteran?

Tooor for BSC Young Boys, 1:1 by Ebrima Colley
Now it’s getting really wild: The Young Boys immediately hit back with a 1-1 draw! Lukeba slips at the last height of the RB defense, allowing the Nsames to have a long solo run in the Red Bulls’ empty half. In front of the goal, the Senegalese player sets up Colley with a cross pass and now the score is 1-1.

Tooor for RB Leipzig, 1-0 by Benjamin Šeško
Well it works: 1-0 for RB! Šeško almost copies his offside goal from the 1st half and turns freely again with a tight ball control in the YB penalty area. The ball hits the left corner again and this time the hit counts! Goodbye boredom. The assist goes to Henrichs.

A good change option for Marco Rose would certainly be Timo Werner. The national player is currently on the sidelines with the Saxons and could show himself again.

7:50 p.m
Poulsen helps out as a defender at the back and puts his body in the way of Niasse. Ugrinić then grabs the Dane’s jersey and commits a striker’s foul.

The second half is underway! Both coaches are foregoing any personnel changes and will go into the second 45 minutes unchanged.

Kick-off of the 2nd half

7:35 p.m
Half-time conclusion:
Slightly tired and bored, we go into halftime together with RB Leipzig and the Young Boys. And with a 0-0 draw without any highlights. RB initially gave us hope with a good start and scored a goal through Šeško in the 6th minute. The VAR stole the goal from the Saxons again because of offside and at the same time killed all of RB’s further offensive efforts. The Rose team then controlled the proceedings without much interest in anything more and initially settled for a goalless 0-0.

7:31 p.m
Fully into the wall! Forsberg doesn’t miss the attempt, but fails with a free kick that is far too flat.
45′
7:31 p.m
Before that, RB takes another free kick. Poulsen, Forsberg and Lenz hatch a plan in front of the penalty area.
45′
7:30 p.m
Quiz question for in between: Does the referee give additional time because of the use of VAR or is the referee enough after a smooth 45 minutes?
42′
19:28
Mini goal threat from Leipzig! Lenz pulls a cross from the left to the second post and close to the goal. YB keeper from Ballmoos has to go out and punches the ball away from Šeško.

19:26
You’re starting to think about the half-time drink. Would you rather have a cola or a coffee to stay awake? Although RB would certainly have another idea regarding the choice of drinks. Either way: caffeine would be good!
39′
7:25 p.m
Closest approach of the yellow and black! After a short solo from Elia on the right side, the ball deflected into the backcourt to Garcia, who also failed from distance. Gulácsi does not have to intervene.
36′
19:23
At least a shot on goal! Ebrima Colley, the Swiss number 11, places the ball in front of the right corner of the penalty area and hopefully shoots from 18 meters. His shot goes one level too high and lands clearly over Péter Gulácsi’s goal.
35′
7:20 p.m
…not much in keeping with the game! Forsberg takes the corner kick and his cross gets stuck in the YB defense at the first post.
35′
7:20 p.m
The next entry on the score sheet can be a goal! Maybe something will happen: RB wins a corner from the left. What happens?
33′
7:18 p.m
Yellow card for Ulisses Garcia (BSC Young Boys)
Ulisses Garcia tries to stop Fabio Carvalho on the sideline with a tackle and is clearly too late. The Swiss rightly sees the first yellow card.

19:17
In any case, the RB fans don’t feel like being bored and are therefore celebrating themselves. Up to now the atmosphere was more of a background noise, but now at least you can hear real fan chants again.
28′
19:13
How keen are the Red Bulls? The people of Leipzig are currently lacking speed and determination. Forsberg and Co. are currently playing in slow gear.
26′
19:12
Ugrinić shows up again on the guests’ left side and tries to outwit Henrichs with a pirouette. The RB defender initially runs into space, but then fights back and stops the YB attack with a lunge.
23′
7:09 p.m
The Swiss gain self-confidence thanks to the aluminum hit and are able to stay in Leipzig’s danger zone for a longer period of time for the first time. Now RB is also running behind.
21′
7:07 p.m
And how: The YB hit the crossbar! Ugrinić sends the corner precisely to the first post, where Niasse goes up to head the ball and hits the top of the crossbar. Lucky for RB!
20′
7:06 p.m
Corner for Bern! The guests lined up in the RB penalty area and expected a cross from Siebener Ugrinić. Will it be dangerous?
17′
7:04 p.m
After the promising start with Šeško’s goal being offside, the game unfortunately now becomes very flat. RB controls the action and problems, but doesn’t force itself to attack.
14′
7:00 p.m
On the other hand, Forsberg takes a free kick from the left edge and pulls the ball sharply into the high penalty area. The Bernese jump up in time and head the cross out the back.
13′
6:59 p.m
Lack of match practice? Gulácsi lobs a tee shot too deep and shoots the ball against the waiting Nsame’s forehead. But the rebound ends up right back at the RB goalkeeper, so it doesn’t become dangerous.
11′
18:57
Meanwhile, the Young Boys don’t have much to report in Leipzig and have so far been in RB goalkeeper Péter Gulácsi’s penalty area.

18:56
Even if the 1-0 lead is taken away from the Saxons, RB is still fully in the game. The Rose team is leading the way with offensive football and seems to be motivated to bag this home win too.

18:52
VAR decision: The goal by B. Šeško (RB Leipzig) is disallowed, score: 0:0
The VAR stops the dream start for RB! After a through pass from Forsberg, Šeško digs through the YB penalty area and, after turning, sinks the ball into the left corner. But the Leipzig player can celebrate for a moment: the VAR radios the referee and concedes the goal again because of offside.
4′
18:51
Fabio Carvalho puts the ball in the middle of the opponent’s penalty area and is already on his way to running towards the goal. However, the YB goalkeeper from Ballmoos is careful and throws himself on the ball at the last moment.
3′
6:49 p.m
As hosts, the Rose team immediately grabs the ball and immediately tries to control the game. A first long shot towards Poulsen ends with YB captain Lustenberger.
1′
6:46 p.m
And come on, the game is on! Referee Manfredas Lukjancukas from Lithuania blows his whistle and Leipzig kicks off. RB is wearing white jerseys today and meets yellow and black Young Boys.
6:37 p.m
Around 40,000 fans are there live in the stadium today and are hoping for another high-scoring exhibition between RB and YB. Will Leipzig finish the group stage with a win?
18:12
The guests from the Swiss capital are also traveling to Saxony without any pressure and are already third in the group, and the YB will continue in the Europa League next year. After a 3-0 win in the league over St. Gallen, the yellow-blacks made three changes: Janko, Colley and the former Hertha player Lustenberger rotated into the first eleven. YB captain Lustenberger is celebrating his Champions League debut at the age of 35.
6:05 p.m
There are therefore eight changes to the Red Bulls’ starting eleven compared to the 3-2 win at BVB. Only the defense with Lukeba, Henrichs and Simakan remains largely the same and is supplemented by Lenz on the right side of the defense. Otherwise everything is new at RB: Gulácsi celebrates his comeback in goal, Seiwald and Kampl occupy the center and Poulsen and Šeško storm up front. In addition, Forsberg, who is willing to emigrate, will start again from the beginning and could therefore also play his last European Cup game for RB.
5:59 p.m
RB Leipzig already has their ticket to the round of 16 in the Champions League and will face Young Boys Bern again today at the end of the group phase. Although the game no longer has much sporting value, RBL coach Marco Rose still wants to end the 2023 European Cup year with a win and is primarily relying on players from the second row who should now be given their chance: “There are a few Guys who can show themselves and who deserve to play,” said Rose.
Hello and welcome to the game RB Leipzig – BSC Young Boys! The live ticker for the game in the group phase of the Champions League starts just in time before the game starts.
