RB Leipzig recently celebrated four competitive game wins in a row against TSG Hoffenheim for the first time and only lost one of the last 12 competitive games against the team from Kraichgau (W9 D2): 0-2 A in November 2021 in the Bundesliga.
RB Leipzig recently won two Bundesliga games in a row for the first time since the end of October and celebrated their ninth win of this Bundesliga season with a 3-2 win in Dortmund – the only time the Saxons had more wins after 14 games this season was in their first season in the upper house in 2016/17 (10 ).
After four Bundesliga games without a win (2D 2L), TSG Hoffenheim recently celebrated a 3-1 win against VfL Bochum and has 23 points after 14 games – TSG only had more points in 2016/17 (26) at the time of comparison. and 2008/09 (31).
RB Leipzig is currently unbeaten at home for the longest time of any Bundesliga club, with no home defeat since the 0-3 loss to Mainz on April 1st. 11 BL home games in a row without defeat (W9 D2) are the Saxons’ best streak since the 2019/20 season (13 unbeaten home games back then).
TSG Hoffenheim scored 16 points in seven away games this season – a club record at the time and already three away points more than in the entire previous season (13). After five away wins at the start of this season, TSG only got one point from their last two away games (1-1 in Augsburg, 1-2 in Mönchengladbach).
TSG Hoffenheim last remained goalless in the Bundesliga on April 29th when they lost 0-1 at RB Leipzig and have since scored 37 times in 18 games (average 2.06). If they also score a goal in Leipzig, TSG would have equaled the club record – Hoffenheim have only managed 19 goals in a row in the 2016/17 season.
RB Leipzig’s Yussuf Poulsen recently scored in three Bundesliga games in a row – this is a personal record for him and he last achieved it in October/November 2021. He is the only current player to score on each of the last three matchdays.
Hoffenheim’s Ihlas Bebou scored his first goal of the season against VfL Bochum, meaning 12 different players have already scored for TSG this Bundesliga season – as well as for RB Leipzig. No team has more different scorers this season than these two teams.
Loïs Openda scored a third of Leipzig’s 21 home goals this Bundesliga season (7), and in the seven home games he only missed out in the 0-0 draw against Bochum at the beginning of October. Season record for an RB player is 11 home goals in a Bundesliga season (most recently Christopher Nkunku in 2021/22), and Openda is only missing four goals in the 10 remaining home games.
Hoffenheim’s coach Pellegrino Matarazzo only got one point from six Bundesliga games against RB Leipzig (1-1 H with VfB Stuttgart in August 2022), and his team didn’t score a single goal in the five defeats. Leipzig coach Marco Rose won all five competitive games against TSG with Borussia Dortmund and RB.
