Djokovic – Schwartzman: 1-0
The first service game goes to Djokovic. With a forehand cross, he sends Schwartzman wide to the right before the forehand inside-out comes to the other corner. Schwartzman still reaches the ball, but it is clearly too far.
1:30 p.m
match start
The game begins with serve for the djoker. Can Schwartzman annoy the world number one today?
13:27
players on the pitch
Both players come to the stadium. Schwartzman is greeted with loud applause, while Djoker also gets a few boos. You will now start warming up.
13:13
Clear favourite
The record so far speaks very clearly for the Djoker. Djokovic has won all six clashes so far. The last time the two played against each other was at the ATP Finals 2020, where Nole won in straight sets.
13:10
Trevisan decides match
The second set also went to the Italian Trevisan, so the Suzanne Lenglen court will soon be vacant. So nothing stands in the way of the game between Djokovic and Schwartzman.
13:07
Argentinian clay court specialist
Roland Garros should suit Schwartzman well. The Argentine won three of his four tournaments on clay and his best Grand Slam result was also the semifinals at Roland Garros 2020. This season he got his best results on clay. In Monte Carlo he reached the quarterfinals, but in Madrid and Rome he was eliminated in the second round.
13:01
Tournament history of Schwartzman
Schwartzman has had a few more difficulties than Djoker in the tournament so far. In the second round game against Jaume Munar he had to fight back after being 2-0 down in sets, but was able to win again in the third round against Grigor Dimitrov without losing a set.
13:00
Space free?
The second set between Trevisan and Sasnovich is heating up. It’s currently 5:5, so there could well be a decision in the tie-break again. If Trevisan wins the set, the court is free for the men’s match.
12:44
Tournament favorite Djokovic?
Can Djokovic repeat his Roland Garros victory from last year? After missing the Australian Open and a rather shaky start to the season, the number one in the world recently got on better. While he was still beaten by Carlos Alcaraz in the semi-finals of the Masters tournament in Madrid, he won the final against Tsitsipas in Rome a week later and clinched his 1000th career win on the way.
12:36
No set loss for the Djoker
The number one seeded Djokovic started the French Open very well. In his three matches so far he has not lost a set and only had to go into the tie-break once in the second round against Alex Molcan. However, if you look at the positions in the world rankings, there was no real hurdle for the Djoker. The Schwartzman, listed at 16, is clearly the best-placed opponent.
12:28
Court Suzanne Lenglen
In the ongoing encounter on the Suzanne Lenglen court, Trevisan won the first set. If the Italian now also wins the second set, the game between Djokovic and Schwartzman could start afterwards.
12:12
game start
The Court Suzanne Lenglen is currently occupied by Martina Trevisan and Aliaksandra Sasnovich. Both have been delivering an exciting game so far, so that the first set has to be decided in the tie-break. As a result, it will take at least one more set before the second largest stadium at Roland Garros is free for Djokovic and Schwartzman.
