18:52
Nottingham must be careful not to become too passive at this stage of the game. There is no sign of the pressing in the first half. Although it is correct to be in a stable basic order, a few quick counterattacks are needed to relieve the pressure. Moneten increases Huddersfield quite significantly the number of strokes.
61
18:50
Huddersfield is currently avoiding taking any real risks. The follow-up behavior is not ideal and the game is also too one-dimensional. Sorba Thomas is always wanted on the right wing, but he usually doesn’t have many options.
58
18:47
Jon Russell, who has just come on, serves Thomas on the right, but his low crosses at the near post are cleared by the Nottingham defence. Huddersfield will probably switch to a back four after Sarr’s removal.

Substitution for Huddersfield Town with Naby Sarr

18:45
Thomas has a lot of space on the right side and tries it with a soulful half-field cross. Wards can no longer approach the slightly too high crosses. At the far post, Spence clears to a corner. The subsequent standard yields nothing.
54
18:42
Philip Zinkernagel (Nottingham Forest) is shown a yellow card.
Zinckernagel pulls on his opponent’s jersey from behind and is cautioned for the tactical foul.
54
18:42
Strong action from Davis, who rockets past Hagg. His low cross on Johnson from the left is well thought out, but Colwill displays good positional play and is first on the ball.
52
18:39
Lewis O’Brien allows himself an unnecessary boarding off the ball and rings Spence. However, Moss remains calm and leaves it at a warning.
50
18:38
Sinai fouls Yates in midfield and is called back. It continues with a free kick for Nottingham in their own half.
48
18:36
Round two begins relatively stormy from both sides. Samba has to use his fists after a Sorba Thomas free-kick, but is able to clear the ball.
46
18:35
The second section begins! Both teams are going into what is probably a crucial 45 minutes unchanged.

Mid-term conclusion:
Nottingham Forest lead 1-0 against Huddersfield Town in a hard-fought Championship Playoff final. Nottingham dominated from the start with playful superiority and a lot of ball possession. The development of chances turned out to be quite difficult against a very defensive Huddersfield. Only a Yates header as a result of a standard really caused danger. Huddersfield became more offensive after about 25 minutes and was able to set accents in particular on the left flank. Sorba Thomas’ two half-chances were not really dangerous. Shortly before the break, Levi Colwill’s own goal made for what was perhaps a decisive moment in this hard-fought and poorly-opportunized playoff match. Huddersfield will definitely need to do more for the game in the second half.

Official stoppage time (minutes): 1

18:18
The 1-0 plays Nottingham fully into the cards. Huddersfield now have more to do for the game, which isn’t necessarily on track. The trump cards are now clearly distributed. But there’s still a whole half time left for Huddersfield.

18:13
Tooor for Nottingham Forest, 0-1 by Ryan Yates
Nottingham Forest leads! Davis plays the ball back down the left to Garner, who tries a tight, mid-air cross. Colback ducks his head in the center and irritates Levi Colwill, who has to get the ball in the duel against Yates, but unhappily pokes it over his own line from six meters away from the goal.
41
18:13
The game is pretty disjointed and absolutely characterized by combat. Nottingham have also lost their dominant line a bit while Huddersfield are better in the game.
39
18:10
With a bit of luck, Ward gets past Worrall on the left and pulls towards the box. Garner sees the danger and drives a determined and fair tackle just before the penalty area. The corner that follows is executed briefly and lands on Ward, who can shoot behind the defence. However, his 14-meter shot is blocked.
36
18:07
Sarr keeps calm in the build-up and then serves Sorba Thomas with a great long ball to the left. This leaves Joe Worrall standing with a great start and moves into the penalty area from the left. Once there, he tries a mix of crosses and shots on goal. However, Samba is there and can parry.
33
18:04
After a bad pass from Spence, Sorba Thomas picks up the ball and walks past one or two opponents in midfield. However, his long through ball in the direction of Ward is clearly too steep. Samba can pick up the leather.
31
18:02
Davis fastens the ball in front and then puts it on Zinckernagel. This fires from 18 meters, half-left position, but his shot is blocked by a defender. No threat to the Huddersfield Gate.
30
18:00
Spence ignites the turbo on the right and tries a cross ball in the direction of Brennan Johnson. The idea is exactly right, but the entry is about 30 centimeters too high. The Forest top scorer does not get the ball ten meters from the goal.
28
17:59
Colback body checks O’Brien in midfield, who is awarded a free kick. This game definitely already offers English hardness to a greater extent. However, referee Jonathan Moss leaves it at a generous line and has not yet issued any yellow cards.
26
17:57
Huddersfield are beginning to open up the game a bit, although a low cross from Toffolo poses no problem for the Nottingham defence. However, just hiding behind will not be the solution either.
24
17:55
Finally something from Huddersfield! Lewis O’Brien fuels dynamically through midfield and makes 30 yards with the ball. With a short pass to the right he serves Sorba Thomas, who tries to finish from 15 meters, half-left position, but gets stuck on Worrall’s block.
22
17:53
Philip Zinckernagel forwards a vertical pass from Cook with a contact to Yates, who tries a shot from about 23 meters, half-right position. However, this sails relatively clearly over the transom.
20
17:50
Nottingham Forest have had 65 per cent of the ball so far and are pushing hard for the first goal. However, Liverpool FC did the same yesterday in the Champions League final without being successful with this tactic. Central defender Naby Sarr in particular seems insecure in the early stages. Yates attacks the 28-year-old resolutely, but his mission is whistled.
17
17:47
Spence gets a corner kick out of Levi Colwill with another dash down the right. Nicholls then sails under Colback’s corner, but there was no player behind the goalkeeper, who was heading far towards the far corner. The danger is gone.
15
17:45
Nottingham Forest has taken over a bit. The men in red have more possession and keep trying down the strong right flank with Spence, Yates and Jonsonsn. Huddersfield, on the other hand, is relatively low.
13
17:44
Sarr commits a foul against Zinckernagel, whom he rams his arm at full speed. The Senegalese gets away without a warning. However, the subsequent free kick becomes dangerous because Yates heads the Garner standard from the inside left position just a few centimeters wide of the far post. Take a deep breath at Huddersfield!
10
17:41
Spence plays the ball on the right briefly to Yates, who tries a half-field cross. This slips the midfielder but over the right slipper. The ball consequently lands in goal.
9
17:39
Nabby Sarr makes a mistake in the build-up game when his cross pass goes wide towards Colwill and rolls over the touchline. There is always a bit of initial nervousness in such a game.
7
17:38
The duels in midfield are tough and consistent even in this initial phase. This was felt by Ryan Yatrs, who was checked by an opponent in an aerial duel. Of course, none of this was to be expected otherwise.
6
17:36
Djed Spence puts on a sprint on the right side and runs toward the baseline with dynamic strides. His cross ball in the sixteen is well thought out, but too flat and imprecise. Naby Sarr can clear with his foot.
4
17:35
Joe Worrall commits his second foul after just three minutes. This time he unfairly stopped Lewis O’Brien in midfield.
3
17:34
Huddersfield is awarded a first free kick 45 yards from the right of goal. Soria Thomas chips the ball in the direction of the penalty area, but neither enemy nor friend get the ball.

The “Richttest Game of Football” is open. Huddersfield are dressed in white and blue, while Nottingham are dressed in red. It’s about £300m and promotion to the Premier League.
17:24
The atmosphere at legendary Wembley is already electrifying. The players are currently in the catacombs and are already pushing themselves for the upcoming 90 minutes and possibly even more. In no other football game is there so much money and prestige at stake as in the playoff finals of the Championship.
17:01
Steve Cooper is just a new man compared to the penalty win against Sheffield United. For attacker Sam Surridge, Keinan Davies stormed alongside Nottingham top scorer Brennan Johnson. Tactically everything stays with the 3-4-1-2 system. In addition to Johnson, the focus today is primarily on Djed Spence, in whom several top clubs, including FC Bayern, have already expressed an interest.
16:55
Huddersfield coach Carlos Corberan made two changes to his team from the semi-final rematch against Luton Town. The two midfielders Duane Holmes and Jon Russell make way for defender Naby Sarr and midfielder Sorba Thomas. Tactically, a 3-4-3 system is to be expected today.
16:44
Nottingham Forest finished the regular season fourth, two points behind today’s opponents. A small phase of weakness at the end of the season was to blame for this. Nottingham have only one point in their last two games against Bournemouth and Hull City. In the playoff semi-finals, the club narrowly won on penalties after a 2-1 away win in the second leg. Of course, the twelve-day break was long enough that the extra workload shouldn’t play a role today. Nottingham played in the Premier League from 1962 to 1999 and never made it back to the Premier League. Today we have to change that.
16:33
Huddersfield Town missed direct promotion as third in the table by just one place. The club ended up six points short of Bournemouth. The promotion aspirant has not lost a game since March and defeated Luton Town 1-1 and 1-0 in the playoff semifinals. Huddersfield last played in the Premier League between 2017 and 2019 and are now hoping to return to the big football stage.
16:32
Hello and welcome to the Championship Playoff Finals. Huddersfield Town and Nottingham Forest are battling for the last remaining Premier League spot today. The sportingly and financially most important game of the year for both teams at Wembley Stadium begins at 5:30 p.m.
