The Netherlands remained undefeated in the group phase and in the main round group four and advanced to the quarter-finals as group winners. There, head coach Per Johansson’s team lost clearly against Norway with 23:30. In the placement games, the 2019 world champions beat Montenegro 28:25 and are now playing against Germany for fifth place.

After Germany moved into the quarter-finals as second in the main round group and with only one defeat against Denmark, head coach Markus Gaugisch’s team lost 20:27 to Sweden in the quarter-finals. Due to the second defeat in the tournament, the German women missed the semi-finals and were challenged in the placement games last Friday. The DHB women won confidently against the Czech Republic with 32:26. Now it’s all about fifth place for Germany.
