The final minutes
The last two minutes have arrived. Albon, Gasly, Sargeant as well as Stroll and Ricciardo are currently eliminated. Can you change anything about that? For his part, Sergio Pérez has already called it a day and seems to think that he has enough time.

Hülkenberg in the danger zone
While Kevin Magnussen can hold on well in fourth place, Nico Hülkeberg is having difficulties. With ninth place, the German is currently in the danger zone.

Q2 started
Let’s continue with the Q2! This time the drivers have 15 minutes to secure one of the places in Q3. The first drivers are already on the track.
09:23
A lot of trouble on the last lap
There was a lot of confusion in the final round, as replays show. Stroll was too fast under yellow flags, while Verstappen and Ocon got in each other’s way. There was also a lot of traffic to complain about.

09:19
Q1 finished
Q1 ends with a bang! Both Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri are eliminated from McLaren. It had already become apparent during training that not much could be done for the racing team. Ocon, Zhou and Tsunoda also didn’t make it into Q2. Charles Leclerc drove the best time.
18.
09:18
Yellow flag
Annoying for everyone who is still on the road. Yuki Tsunoda brakes in turn 5 and ends up in the emergency exit. There are yellow flags at this point.

Just two more minutes
The last two minutes of Q1 were canceled. The Ferrari should be safe in Q2. Zhou, Piastri, Stroll, Ricciardo and Tsunoda are currently eliminated.

Fresh tires bring Hülkenberg forward
Thanks to fresh softs, Nico Hülkenberg can make another improvement and move up to sixth place. Shows that some people have to go out again in order not to risk elimination.

Hülkenberg is passed on
George Russell’s first fast lap was canceled because he ignored the track limits at Turn 8, but now things are better and he can move up to sixth place. This means things go even further back for Hülkenberg. He’s 18 now.

09:10
Lots of shifts
While Leclerc can continue to stay at the top, a lot has happened behind him. Sergio Pérez is new second ahead of Hamilton and Norris. Verstappen is only in sixth place. Logan Sargeant finished ninth. Hülkenberg is currently 17th and would therefore be eliminated.

Nico Hülkenberg finds himself in tenth place at the moment and definitely still has to find time, because only 16 drivers have even completed a timed lap.

Max Verstappen finishes his first fast lap, but just can’t get past Charles Leclerc. Only 0.089 seconds were missing.

Start qualifying
The traffic lights are green and qualifying has started in Las Vegas. The first drivers are already on the track. Including Nico Hülkenberg.
08:55
Stoll is also a burden
In addition to Carlos Sainz, Lance Stroll also goes into qualifying with a heavy load. However, through his own fault. The Aston Martin driver received a five-place penalty a few minutes ago for overtaking under yellow in the third practice session.
08:54
The conditions
Before qualifying, the track temperature dropped to 17 degrees, while the air temperature was 15 degrees. So getting the tires to work should be important again. The chance of rain is only 30 percent.
08:49
Hülkenberg switches back to the old package
After the update at the Grand Prix in Austin was seen as the great hope of the Haas team, disillusionment has now set in. The update had not had the success that was hoped for and the team continued to lag behind. Nico Hülkenberg is now switching back to the old specification in consultation with his team. This makes the German feel much more comfortable.
08:45
Ferrari without qualifying test
The real favorite should be Charles Leclerc in the Ferrari. The Monegasse was just on his first fast lap with the softs before the cancellation came. Otherwise he could certainly have improved to first place. Carlos Sainz also performed well. However, the second Ferrari goes into qualifying with a disadvantage. What happened in the first training session still has consequences for him. The Spaniard has to drop ten places on the starting grid due to new parts. The racing team had tried to avert punishment from the stewards because Ferrari itself was not to blame, but the race stewards’ hands were tied by the regulations.
08:38
Russell wins qualifying dress rehearsal
In terms of sport, things went relatively smoothly after the bumpy start and it wasn’t until shortly before the end of the third training session that the red flag had to come out again after Alex Albon made contact with the wall. The training was then stopped, making it difficult to read the result. George Russell delivered the best time in the Mercedes. It took him 1:34.093 minutes. Behind him were Oscar Piastri and a strong Logan Sargeant. Only behind them were Max Verstappen and Sergio Pérez.
08:35
Messed up start spoils the party mood
In recent weeks, Formula 1 has created a great atmosphere for the Grand Prix in Las Vegas. For many, the anticipation of the mega event fizzled out on the first day. A loose drain cover initially damaged Ocon’s car and then brought Sainz to a standstill. Consequently, Formula 1 decided to cancel the session and concentrate on checking and securing the manhole covers around the track again. As a result, the second training session was pushed back a long way. A circumstance that has certainly happened before. Dealing with the fans, however, is likely to cause frustration for some time to come. Communication on the track was poor before they were asked to leave the stands for logistical reasons at 1:30 a.m., before the start of the second practice session. There were explanations for this, but no real apology to the fans.
08:30
Right through the gaming paradise
The famous strip in Las Vegas will be the venue for a premier class race for the first time, after only racing in the parking lot of Caesars Palace in 1981/82. The new route has a comparatively long lap distance of 6.2 kilometers. Three long straights characterize the race track, the start and finish straight leading around a curve.
