It doesn’t take long for the track to fill up. Only the two Williams are still in the garage. In the first few minutes, the hard and medium are used.

The traffic lights are green, the start of the 1st training session in Spielberg has taken place. The drivers now have 60 minutes to prepare for the next few days.

The distance

Driving is on the Red Bull Ring. The route has a length of 4.318 kilometers and the lap is comparatively short. A total of ten curves await the pilots. The maximum gradient is 12 percent and the maximum gradient is 9.3 percent. Three long straights and fast corners challenge drivers and cars alike.

Only a few points for Hulkenberg

Haas only scored a few championship points this season. The team has only been able to take points three times in the last few months. The car is always good on a lap, but the race is the crux of the matter. Hülkenberg alone had started five times from the top ten, but due to excessive tire wear nothing was possible in the race and the German fell back mercilessly.

Red Bull are traveling to Spielberg for their home game with a total of nine wins in a row. In the last few weeks, however, the competitors have come closer and a one-man show is no longer to be expected. The sprint weekend could also help the competition to further close the gap.

60 minutes for the perfect setup

The sprint weekend also means that the teams and drivers only have 60 minutes in total to find the perfect set-up for the coming days, as there will only be one practice session. Qualifying for Sunday follows in the evening, before Saturday is all about the sprint.
