Time is up and the final laps are running. Mick Schumacher just about makes it into Q3 in tenth place! Pierre Gasly, Alex Albon, Valtteir Bottas as well as Yuki Tsunoda and Lando Norris were eliminated. Charles Leclerc set the fastest time. Verstappen is right behind.

The last few minutes in Q1 are running and the track is crowded. With the exception of Sainz, Leclerc and Verstappen, all pilots are on the road again. Vettel is still out. He’s only ranked 18th.

For his part, Sebastian Vettel is under pressure. Aston Martin just doesn’t seem to get the qualifying right. Vettel is 17th, Stroll is 19th.

The track is starting to fill up more and more and meanwhile a good half of the field is off the track. Ferrari has also already started qualifying.

The traffic lights are green, qualifying has started in Spielberg. The drivers now have 18 minutes to get a place in the top 15. The first cars on the track belong to Tsunoda and Gasly.

The distance
Driving is on the Red Bull Ring. The route has a length of 4.318 kilometers and the lap is comparatively short. A total of ten curves await the pilots. The maximum gradient is 12 percent and the maximum gradient is 9.3 percent. Three long straights and fast corners challenge drivers and cars alike.

Since the second sprint weekend of the season is coming up in Spielberg, qualifying starts straight away after a practice session at noon. Max Verstappen drove himself into the role of favorite in the first practice session. The Dutchman had clocked a 1:06.302, 0.255 seconds faster than competitor Charles Leclerc. Behind them the gap was even bigger: George Russell was 0.4 seconds behind in third place.
