After a “bottomless performance” at home, they lost 4-1 to Borussia Dortmund II last weekend. After just 17 minutes, the hosts were 3-0 down and subsequently only managed to limit the damage.

Again and again, the coach had to rebuild his first eleven because top performers and regular players were absent for a long period of time or at short notice. Most recently, offensive man David Kopacz, who will be out “a long time” with a shoulder joint rupture, was hit.

Ingolstadt coach Guerino Capretti is under enormous pressure today. Since the 41-year-old took over the FCI before new games, his team has only gained four points. The gap to the relegation places is now only six points. The Schanzer have to be careful not to be dragged deeper into the relegation battle.
