76

22:06

Yellow card for Kevin Schumacher (Hansa Rostock)

75

22:06

A good quarter of an hour separates the cog from the important trio. In any case, Rostock has everything under control at the moment. The Baltic Sea townspeople let the ball circulate well, keep the pace low and smother any Braunschweig advances very effectively.

72

22:02

Glöckner now takes his scorer off the field. Schumacher takes over for the flat Ingelsson.

Svante Ingelsson

Substitution at Hansa Rostock: Svante Ingelsson

70

22:01

Now the Baltic Sea townspeople don’t get the ball cleared resolutely enough for a short time, so that the second ball can be pulled onto Ujah’s head. But from a short distance he doesn’t get any pressure in the end. The ball lands in Kolke’s safe hands.

68

22:00

Of course, Lower Saxony want the equaliser, but still cannot find any solutions to pose problems for the Kogge’s defence. Hansa Rostock has little trouble keeping the lions away from their own goal.

65

21:56

Donkor sharply puts a corner into the box from the left, but Schultz’s header is successfully blocked.

65

21:55

Schiele draws his first option, bringing in Ujah for Endo.

65

21:55

Anthony Ujah

Substitution at Eintracht Braunschweig: Anthony Ujah

65

21:54

Keita Endo

Substitution at Eintracht Braunschweig: Keita Endo

63

21:53

More has to come from the BTSV now. However, the lions are finding it extremely difficult to flip the switch again. Schiele brings his reservists to him and will probably change for the first time in the near future.

60

21:50

Svante Ingelsson

Tooor for Hansa Rostock, 0:1 by Svante Ingelsson

Hansa is rewarded for a committed start to the second round and scores the lead to make it 1-0. Duljević has plenty of space on the left wing and brings the cross into the box, which is deflected by the BTSV defense to Ingelsson lurking in the back. He doesn’t hesitate and nails the ball into the net from eight meters with great force and precision. Nothing to do for Kolke.

59

21:49

Krauss clears Lucoqui. That brings the cog a free kick from the left half field. Duljević prepares the ball, but cannot find a teammate at the far post. Donkor clears with his head.

56

21:47

Hansa has defensively everything under control since the change of sides and is now playing much more actively up front. There is little to see of the Lower Saxony at the moment.

53

21:43

Anderson Lucoqui puts the ball down for Haris Duljević, who pulls the ball into the center and then simply looks for a direct shot from 23 meters to the short corner. However, the tight shot from the right rushes just past the post. Kick off Brunswick.

51.

21:42

And Rostock again: Roßbach fuels up to the baseline and pulls the cross up in front of the goal, where Verhoek dives under the cross.

49

21:39

The first conclusion of the second round belongs to the guests from the Baltic Sea, but is not worth mentioning. Ingelsson chases the ball from 23 meters clearly over the Eintracht goal. Kick off BTSV.

46

21:36

The teams return to the field and Fröling – last-minute goal scorer during the week – stays in the dressing room at the Kogge. It takes over van Drongelen. Go on.

46

21:36

Rick van Drongelen

Substitution at Hansa Rostock: Rick van Drongelen

46

21:35

Nils Froling

Substitution at Hansa Rostock: Nils Fröling

Kick-off 2nd half

45

21:20

Mid-term conclusion:
Braunschweig and Rostock are still 0-0 at the break. The BTSV got off to a better start and practically dominated events for the entire first 45 minutes, but without really getting 100% chances. The guests from the Baltic Sea city were defensively quite compact, but acted in the game far too unimaginative. The means of choice were mostly high balls forward, which was not very difficult for the lions to defend. Despite the better game system of Lower Saxony, the goalless draw is well deserved. Both teams need more creative ideas and more precision in the offensive game in the second half.

45

21:17

Official injury time (minutes): 2

45

21:17

It almost rings before the break whistle. With a free kick from the right-hand field, Nikolaou shakes off his guard and throws himself into the header from 13 meters. The conclusion comes sharply to the long corner, but misses it by a few centimeters.

44

21:15

Ryan Malone

Yellow card for Ryan Malone (Hansa Rostock)

Malone lets Krauss run up and now also sees yellow for it.

43

21:15

No team really takes risks anymore. Ales looks set for the next goalless first half for both teams.

40

21:11

On the other hand, Lauberbach is up and running alone against three players. He then shakes off Roßbach on the penalty area, but he doesn’t give up, follows up and can still block the shot from 16 meters with his knee to the corner, which then brings nothing further.

38

21:10

Ingelsson sends Froling forward with a sharp diagonal pass. However, the addressee can no longer control the ball and stumbles it into touch.

36

21:07

Keita Endo

Yellow card for Keita Endo (Eintracht Braunschweig)

Curious: Endo – who was just fouled himself – has to be treated briefly outside. However, because he then enters the field without first contacting the referee, he now sees a yellow card.

34

21:06

Rostock works out a corner. However, Froling’s attempt is clearly too short and is blocked at the first post. Offensively, the Baltic Sea townspeople remain too harmless.

32

21:03

That’s the way it is. Krauße has shaken off the pain and is allowed back onto the field. Let’s continue in eleven-on-eleven.

31

21:03

Robin Krausse gets the ball in the abdomen and is treated on the lawn for a while. With a cooling pad in his pants, he then goes to the sidelines so that the game can continue. After a short treatment, Krauss should continue.

28

20:59

Anton Donkor

Yellow card for Anton Donkor (Eintracht Braunschweig)

Dennis Dressel has a lot of space in the center and Anton Donkor stops the Rostocker’s advance by holding his jersey. Clear yellow card.

25

20:59

Krauße puts the ball into the box sharply from the right wing, but Kolke is able to parry with a foot defense. Endo’s subsequent diving header is then blocked by the Rostock defense.

23

20:55

The Baltic Sea townspeople are having a hard time going forward. Most of the time the balls just come up and far. That’s pretty easy to defend for the BTSV, who clearly control the game.

20

20:52

Kaufmann extends a cross from the right wing to the back of the post, where Donkor immediately pulls away. The ball slips over the instep when he shoots from the left from seven meters, so Kolke does not have to intervene. Kick off Hansa.

19

20:51

Ingelsson threatens to escape with a strong pass in depth. However, Donkor confronts his opponent in a running duel and can prevent worse things from happening one-on-one.

17

20:48

Endo sends out Kaufmann, but he can only get a corner against Malone. However, Donkor puts the ball at rest too weakly on the first post. No danger.

13.

20:46

When the free kick is due, Jannis Nikolaou unexpectedly has a chance to finish twelve meters in front of the opposing goal. The defender doesn’t hit the ball perfectly and chases the leather onto the stands in a slightly supine position. Kick off Hansa.

13.

20:44

Anderson Lucoqui

Yellow card for Anderson Lucoqui (Hansa Rostock)

In a direct counter-attack, Locoqui has to resort to a tactical foul against Multhaup and sees a yellow card for holding.

12.

20:44

Nils Fröling picks up speed on the right, but both his first pass, which is blocked back to him, and his subsequent cross find no takers.

9.

20:42

Ryan Malone hurls a throw-in high into the box, where the BTSV defense can initially clear. The ball lands at Dressel, who chases the follow-up shot from 18 meters directly over the goal.

7.

20:38

Donkor saves an accidental Kaufmann cross before the touch and lays flat for Endo. His right-footed shot from 20 meters hits the bottom left corner, but Kolke is down in time and can hold the ball in the follow-up.

4.

20:36

The first few minutes belong to the hosts, who play powerfully forward. However, Hansa is doing well so far.

1.

20:33

Via Donkor and Lauberbach, the ball lands at Endo, who simply takes aim from the edge of the penalty area. The shot is deflected sharply to the top right corner, but Kolke has it safely in the follow-up.

1.

20:32

With Braunschweig (13) and Rostock (12), the two second division clubs with the most goalless first rounds of the 2022/23 season are facing each other today. Will things get off to a sluggish start today? At least the ball is rolling in Lower Saxony now. The lions play in yellow and blue, the cog all in white. Here we go.

20:02

There have been 14 encounters between the two teams so far and with six wins the Baltic Sea city-dwellers are just ahead of the direct comparison (three draws, five defeats). Most recently, both teams played together in the 3rd division in the 2019/20 season. A 2-1 away win for Kogge in the Eintracht Stadium was followed by a clear 3-0 home win for Rostock in their last meeting to date on March 9, 2020.

19:56

During the week, joker Nils Fröling saved the Glöckner debut with a last-minute goal to equalize 1-1 against 1. FC Nürnberg. The new Rostock coach promptly rewarded the 22-year-old with a starting eleven. In addition, Anderson Lucoqui and Frederic Ananou come into play from the start. Nico Neidhart (bench) as well as Lukas Scherff and Kai Pröger, who had to be replaced on Wednesday due to injury, remain outside. So three changes to the cog.

19:50

FC Hansa Rostock surprisingly parted ways with coach Jens Härtel last weekend after a 1-0 home defeat. During the week against 1. FC Nürnberg, Patrick Glöckner was the new coach on the bench for the first time, under whom the Baltic Sea city-dwellers remained unbeaten in their third consecutive away game (one win, two draws). Overall, however, the situation at the Kogge is anything but relaxed. The only six points in the last seven league games correspond to the worst value in the league.

19:43

Braunschweig coach Michael Schiele, who still has to do without the injured Immanuël Pherai, who was directly involved in the last four goals at home for the lions (two goals, two assists), trusts tonight in almost exactly the same starting eleven that during the week for started the English week with a 1-1 draw at Jahn Regensburg. Returnee Jasmin Fejzić only takes over for Ron-Thorben Hoffmann (bench) in goal.

19:36

After promoted Eintracht Braunschweig initially only got one of 18 possible points from the first six league games, the lions are now doing really well in the 2nd Bundesliga. The BTSV lost only one of the last ten league games (four wins, five draws). Currently, however, the Lower Saxony, including the end of the DFB Cup, have not won for five competitive games (three draws, two defeats).

19:30

Good evening and welcome from the Eintracht Stadium. This is where Eintracht Braunschweig welcomes FC Hansa Rostock tonight at 8:30 p.m. as part of the 17th matchday of the 2nd Bundesliga.
